GF Energy is the majority shareholder in a greenfield wood pellet production plant under construction in Quebec, Canada. Detailed engineering is currently being finalized with start of construction foreseen mid September 2010.

The plant has a capacity of 130,000 metric tons of wood pellets per year. It has secured sustainable wood fibre supply for the long term. The plant can produce premium and industrial quality pellets to be supplied in either bulk or bags.

The plant is situated at the site of a former pulp mill with two railway lines going into the production building, ensuring optimal bulk loading and onward logistics. It can also load trucks directly for bagged product.
